If I remember rightly I read a post describing how the member had bought a new set of batteries which were delivered, fitted and the old ones removed from their barge in France. I have searched but cannot find this. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

I have an urgent need as last night two of my 600Ah 2v cells exploded!!! We are on the Canal Lateral a la Loire near Marseilles les Aubigny.

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Bob

Just a thought, A different way forward might be to look in Yellow Pages for Fork Truck engineers, they do this sort of thing on a daily basis, it's bread and butter for them, and electric fork trucks are everywhere.

hope this helps

Sorry to hear of your fireworks. BatteryMegastore is the place we have used and they stock most brands, UK orders with zero rating is rewuired and delivered by French or NL depot direct. I don't think they take them away but I got €80 back on 4 x 120Ah start batteries at local recycling yard near Cambrai. There must be others your way. Another option is Wilmot near Cambrai so good for N France and has huge stock and pretty good prices for France. I don’t know how fare they deliver.

Hello Bob,

A frightening experience?

Both John Booker and I have spoken well of Powercell UK who do provide an excellent service - but apparently only in UK.

Paul Hayes suggestion of a local fork lift truck supplier looks like your best bet - that is Powercell's bread and butter business in UK?

Hi Bob

Hope you have got sorted out by now, but only today I came across a company at a vintage machinery fair. I have no idea of their costs or service, but they said the right things.

They seemed to be on the ball with 2 volt "Industrial cells".

Hope this helps.

"Komeet" from NL will come with their van and replace your 2 volt cells within the day and take the old once away for you. 1000 AH will cost about €2100

Can you help with a link please Frank. All I get from a Google search is eating houses or sky-gazing for comets sites.

Thank you,

Bob
