Just a quick question before I commit a faux pas.

Is there any issue with laminating my boat documents?
I expect them to be required now & then and know
how easy it is for paperwork to get marked, crumpled etc.

Hi Alan,

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. But on the subject of boat documents, just a heads-up that in the past week or so, 16 English-speaking Gendarmes boarded boats in Buzet-sur-Baise checking ownership papers, insurance certificates and diesel purchase receipts. Don't know if this is an isolated event or part of a sweep along the Canal de Garonne, but maybe a reminder to make sure all papers are in order.

Cheers, Tony

Would suggest you make copies and laminate them for daily use keeping
originals intact in, pref waterproof, a plastic envelope.

Edward.

Thank you both.
The daft thing is that in most cases my originals are pdf's attached to emails.

The UK Part 1 registration certificate is supplied laminated. I can't see any problems with laminated papers since I don't ever recall any authority trying to photocopy etc. Normally anybody requesting sight just wants to pick out a few numbers, and I have never been specifically asked for an original, so a photo copy / print off, laminated, would seem a sensible idea.

DON'T.If they fall in the water they will sink. Better to keep a photocopy to show whoever and the original in a file if required. John
