I wonder if anyone has come across this problem before (I've searched previous topics and can't find anything)
When I switch on the starboard nav light it stays on for about one minute and then quickly fades to nothing.
When I try again that period becomes increasingly shorter until it just doesn't come on at all - leave it for a few hours and then it will repeat that same sequence
I've re-wired the light, changed the lamp and put in a new socket - all to no avail.
At the instrument panel (fitted new in 2006) I've changed over supplies and also momentarily shorted out the switch terminals in the hope of isolating the problem. Nothing!
My first thought was that something was corroded and/or overheating but so far I can't find anything.
Resistance is showing 2 ohms in the cable loom once it leaves the instrument panel
This seems to be gradually narrowing down to the area around the main PCB (which I'm avoiding like the plague because there are no snap connectors or similar - it appears to have been hard-wired in)
Any thoughts out there?
regards
Keith
