Bought one last week after being recommended by a dutch barge owner with very impressive paintwork
great for flat areas without heavy pitting or exposed rivets ...leaves steel ready to paint ..and will take off most finishes because it doesn't heat them......easy to break if you use on anything other than a flat surface but also easy to use (not much pressure needed)

Im very impressed with it.....still using grinder with flap wheels and wire brush for edges/rivets/deck hardware

paid €89 for the three disk version

Thanks for the report back. Just to clarify by wire brush did you mean a twisted wire brush attachment like the attached image? I'd be very interested to see how the tercoo compare to that, having watched the original Tercoo video and not being that impressed.

When I stripped Orca last year, I used a twisted wire cup while waiting for tercos to turn up in the post. Progress was much slower with the wire brush, particularly where the paint was soft, and started smearing off, rather than being hammered off.
The finish was much more satisfactory and much quicker once the terco arrived. They're not cheap, so the fact that me, a skin flint, ordered another to have in stock when I finished, should speak volumes.

have been using a variety of wire brushes in both drill and angle grinder...the twisted ones work well for edges ...smaller pointy ones for around cleats and other deck hardware and 60 grit wheels in a grinder...all of them have their place but the turcoo blaster for big flat surfaces like cabin sides and hull is quick and unlike a grinder it only needs a really light touch ....the only thing that is quicker but certainly a lot rougher on your hull would be a scabbler....but the noise and weight of those things is really hard work
