Good afternoon,

I have an on-going problem with my galley grey water tank level switch.
I'm on switch number 3 - one float switch and one solid state switch have all failed.

The grey water tank is a bespoke stainless steel unit with good access from the top.
The system is 24V.

Can anyone recommend a reliable level sensor that will control my Whale grey water pump?

Thanks in anticipation,

Jabsco Hydro Air. Just blow down air tube once a month to clear any sludge build up in bell.

Used 2 for 10 years in 2 grey tanks with no issues.

Get a simple float switch from Rapid electronics (http://www.rapidonline.com/electronic-components/compact-float-switch-vertical-61-1305)
This won't handle your pump switching load - but it WILL switch a car type (or lorry type is it's 24V) relay which will.
Much cheaper than any proprietary marine based switching system and much more reliable.
I installed one in a shower sump around 9 years ago and it has never even needed inspection. Always works. Have used the same system for bilge pumps, alarms etc.

I second that I have one in my water tank. It has only been in a year but it's fine and there's not much to go wrong - a simple magnet and a reed switch encased in plastic, £2.50 on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C94NVFQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I too have had a similar problem with float switches in my grey water tank. For a while we just had an on/off switch. Unfortunately, we frequently forgot to switch it off and the the gulper pump was left running for a couple of hours! The solution, was to fit a timer switch. I used a pneumatic timer switch, normally used for stairwells in blocks of flats. (Screwfix code 68088 ). So far a success.
