I have just had Yavanna, a UK wide-boat, (17.5 x 3 x 0.8), about 40 tonnes, hauled out, shedded, high pressure hull-cleaned, and two coats of the cheapish anti-rust tar replacement paint for €1250 including tax. This was at Aalsmeer, just off the Ringvaart van de Haarlemmer-meerpolder. I found the firm extremely easy to deal with, mostly long distance from the southern hemisphere with regular emails and photo attachments. Marcel Harting of Fa. W. Harting & Son speaks perfect English and does top quality work. I recommend him at marcel-UR6V+J6+b7dmftyINQ5eDZ/MYkS9X/F/@public.gmane.org Phone +31 297 342 785.

While delivering Yavanna I requested a quote for sanding and painting the whole boat except hull and varnished parts of wheelhouse. I accepted his quote of €3600 gladly. This involved undercoat and masking except we agreed not to try to get all the non-slip off, just patch then re-coat. My little barge is back at her regular yard in Aalsmeer and they are very happy with the paint finish. I recommend them for your consideration if you keep your barge in the area. (Marcel used Epifanes or Sikkens super gloss one-pack.

Thanks Max- useful info. How many coats did they put on? Did they spray or hand paint or combo?
