As you can see we accumulated a selection of mooring pins as we left buying them till rather late and local chandlers
had little choice left on a Friday afternoon.
As suggested by more learned contributors taking 2 pins and crossing them over at 90 degrees so they support
each other worked well.
The orange screw in pins did not work at Marlow where the stones ground made screwing in impossible
but at Pangbourne Meadow they worked very well securing additional "spring" lines
- they held well allowing quite a tension to be applied and were very easy to screw in & out.
But there was little current so not the fiercest of tests.
I will continue to use them in addition to more conventional hammer in pins.
I saw the Spiraflex pins in action at Henley and they are very neat, being flush when hammered in
And I must have blinked as I missed them being removed.
Are they only available direct from the supplier or is there anyone who offers a DBA discount on them?.
